These rovings can be applied as they are or they can also be applied in the manufacture of other materials.
A chopped strand mat is one of the advanced applications for the resulting rovings. In the strengthening of the fiberglass material, the chopped stranded mat is applied. Fibers of glass laid together and bound by the means of a binder usually result into the chopped stranded mat. It is usually manufactured by placing sheets of material into a mold and covering it with resin.
The applications of the fiberglass material are vast and distinct. Fiberglass finds its application in the production of storage containers. Chemicals are usually stored in the storage tanks that are made of fiberglass. The resin found in fiberglass is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals hence making it a suitable material.
The other application is usually in house building. This is seen in the production of various materials for roofs, doors, windows chimneys and other house parts. Fiberglass possesses great qualities that make its application wide and vast.
