The 2nd International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction and Machine Learning (HCIML 2026) Successfully Held


On July 4, 2026, the 2nd International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction and Machine Learning (HCIML 2026) was grandly held at Liaoning Petrochemical University in Fushun, Liaoning Province. The conference was hosted by Liaoning Petrochemical University, organized by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering of Liaoning Petrochemical University, and supported by China Computer Federation (CCF) Shenyang. Cao Jiangtao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning Petrochemical University, delivered the welcome address. Zhao Qiang, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony, and Shi Yuanbo, Associate Dean of the school, chaired the keynote speech session.


In the keynote speech session, Tang Ying (Gina Tang), IEEE Fellow and professor at Rowan University, USA, delivered a systematic sharing on the engineering of large language model reasoning with the title Engineering LLM Reasoning: From Efficient One-Call Intelligence to Multi-Agent Collaboration. Addressing challenges faced by current large models such as high reasoning cost, insufficient robustness and difficulties in deployment in complex real-world scenarios, she introduced an efficient reasoning solution centered on adaptive structure retrieval and one-call answer synthesis, presenting the vision of artificial intelligence development: "moving beyond larger models and longer prompts toward reasoning-centric intelligence". Annalu Waller, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Salford, UK and Dean of its School of Science, Engineering and Environment, delivered an in-depth sharing focusing on inclusive artificial intelligence design with the title Inclusive AI: designing for diversity. She emphasized that the development of artificial intelligence technologies should cover diverse user groups, and neglecting accessibility needs in design will further widen the digital divide. Drawing on her long-term research accumulation in human-centred computing, natural language processing, personal narrative and assistive technology, she advocated for incorporating the needs and in-depth participation of people with disabilities throughout the entire process of technology research and development.


Behrad Ahmadpour, researcher at the University of Oxford, explored security enhancement solutions of privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols in untrusted network environments with the title Enhancing Network Security Through Privacy-Preserving Protocols: Leveraging Modern Cryptography for Untrusted Real-World Applications. Xiyuan Hu , professor at Beijing University of Technology, shared insights on the interpretability and robustness of deepfake detection and introduced an interpretable detection model based on cross-modal multi-feature fusion with the title Deepfake Detection with Explainable Features and Multi-feature Fusion Technology. Yuanbo Shi, associate professor at Liaoning Petrochemical University, shared research findings on quantitative analysis of Raman spectroscopy empowered by advanced machine learning models, providing technical support for rapid and accurate detection in industrial scenarios, with the title Quantitative Analysis of Raman Spectroscopy Based on Advanced Machine Learning Models.


Following the keynote speeches, oral presentation sessions were held at the conference. Young scholars and research teams from universities including Shenyang Aerospace University, Liaoning Petrochemical University, University of Jinan and Hubei University of Technology shared their latest research outcomes on frontier directions such as intelligent design engineering, machine learning for industrial scenarios, quantitative evaluation of age-friendly human-computer interaction, digitalization of cultural heritage and multimodal intelligent interaction. Diverse research perspectives and solid empirical analysis fully demonstrated the research vitality and innovation potential of young scholars in the field.


The successful hosting of HCIML 2026 has built a high-quality academic exchange and cooperation platform for researchers, engineers and industrial scholars in the global field of human-computer interaction and machine learning.
